Erika and John’s wedding day was one for the books. They chose the beautiful Barn at Oleander for their wedding venue and it was lovely for so many reasons. Both the girls and the boys were able to get ready on the property which made for a slow and simple morning. Once they were ready, we went straight into the first look, followed by a sweet bridal portrait time. Their outdoor ceremony was like a fairytale as the setting sun peeked through the trees and the wind gently whistled.
One of the highlights for me was when the minister called forward all their friends and family to pray a blessing over the newlyweds. Everything about their wedding was heartfelt, intentional, and intimate. There’s something about watching a couple commit their lives to each other, with no strings attached, that warms the soul.
Following the ceremony and cocktail hour, the guests headed into the barn for dinner and dancing. One of the best parts about photographing a wedding day is that you get to see and hear how the guests feel about the couple. It was such a joy to hear how much Erika and John’s friends adore them. I mean what’s not to adore!
Erika and John, it’s couples like you that make me love my job! You two are such a joy to be around. The way you care for each other, your beautiful daughter Cora, and all those around you is inspiring to say the least. In case I haven’t told you enough, I love working with you guys and I consider it such an honor to have been your wedding photographer. Thank you both, and I pray the Lord blesses you and your sweet family.
